Carbonara Recipe Filipino Style

INGREDIENTS:
  • 250 ml of All Purpose Cream, I recommend you to buy the Nestle brand
  • 200 g of sweet ham, slice it into small squares
  • 200 g of bacon, shred it
  • 2 cans of Campbell creamed mushroom soup, I recommend you to buy the Campbell brand
  • 400 g Fettucine pasta, you can try the spinach pasta to add color green noodles to your dish
  • 1 head of garlic
  • A dash of nutmeg
  • Olive oil
  • Pepper
  • ½ cup of parmesan cheese for the toppings
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Prepare and boil the Fettucine pasta. Follow the instructions at the back of the wrapper. Then set aside
  2. Next is, fry the shredded bacon into the pan under medium heat so that it will not be too crispy. Fry until it becomes brown. Separate the ¼ for the toppings later for your carbonara recipe filipino style and the other will be mix in the sauce.
  3. After that, sauté the garlic in a saucepan and use the olive oil. Add the sweet ham and the bacon you separated for the sauce.
  4. Then, you can now add the 2 cans of Campbell creamed mushroom soup. After that, refill the 2 cans with water then pour it into the saucepan. Stir it well to blend the sauce of the dish. Add the 250 ml All Purpose Cream, mix to combine the cream from the sauce. Lastly, Season it with small amount of pepper and nutmeg.
  5. Usually most bacon and ham we buy from the market are always salty because of the preservatives. It can make the sauce more salty too. You just need add some more All Purpose Cream to compensate the salty flavor to be able to perfect the taste of carbonara recipe filipino style.
  6. You may now serve the carbonara sauce and the Fettucine pasta separately. Add the bacon bits for the toppings.
