INGREDIENTS:
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 thumbs ginger, cut into strips
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 chicken, cut into serving size pieces
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 4 cups water
- 1 chicken stock cube
- 1-2 medium size sayote, cut into wedges
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Heat the oil in a saucepan, sauté the onion, ginger and garlic for 3 minutes
- Add the chicken and cook for about 5 minutes, or until lightly golden
- Add the fish sauce and stir to coat the chicken
- Pour in the water and add stock cube, bring to the boil and simmer 30-40 minutes, or until chicken is tender
- Add the sayote and cook for 5 minutes or until sayote tender
- Serve hot with rice!
