Tinolang Manok(Chicken & Ginger Soup Recipe)



INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 thumbs ginger, cut into strips
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 chicken, cut into serving size pieces
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 chicken stock cube
  • 1-2 medium size sayote, cut into wedges

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan, sauté the onion, ginger and garlic for 3 minutes
  2. Add the chicken and cook for about 5 minutes, or until lightly golden
  3. Add the fish sauce and stir to coat the chicken
  4. Pour in the water and add stock cube, bring to the boil and simmer 30-40 minutes, or until chicken is tender
  5. Add the sayote and cook for 5 minutes or until sayote tender
  6. Serve hot with rice!
