Onion Ring Recipe


INGREDIENTS
    
1 pc. Large sweet Onion
1/4 cup All-purpose flour

Batter

1/2 cup All-purpose Flour
1/4 cup Cornstarch
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
Pinch of Salt and Pepper
1 piece Egg, beaten
1/2 cup Ice Cold Water

Dredge

1 cup Bread Crumbs
Pinch of Magic Sarap or seasoned salt
Oil for frying

DIRECTIONS

  1. Peel  the onion and slice into rings,  separate each ring segment and dredge in flour.  Shake off excess flour.
  2. Mix together the ice-cold water,  egg, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs and magic sarap.
  4. Dip the onion rings in the batter then dredge in the breadcrumbs.
  5. Set aside and refrigerate for an hour.
  6. Deep fry until golden brown.
