INGREDIENTS
1 pc. Large sweet Onion
1/4 cup All-purpose flour
Batter
1/2 cup All-purpose Flour
1/4 cup Cornstarch
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
Pinch of Salt and Pepper
1 piece Egg, beaten
1/2 cup Ice Cold Water
Dredge
1 cup Bread Crumbs
Pinch of Magic Sarap or seasoned salt
Oil for frying
DIRECTIONS
- Peel the onion and slice into rings, separate each ring segment and dredge in flour. Shake off excess flour.
- Mix together the ice-cold water, egg, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder and season with salt and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs and magic sarap.
- Dip the onion rings in the batter then dredge in the breadcrumbs.
- Set aside and refrigerate for an hour.
- Deep fry until golden brown.
