INGREDIENTS:
- Tilapia - 2 pieces about 500 grams- filleted and sliced into strips
- Vegetable oil for deep-frying
- Cornstarch - 1 c
- Salt to taste
- Black Pepper Powder - 1/4 tsp
- White Pepper Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Garlic Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Onion Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Pineapple Juice - 1 c
- Orange Marmalade - 1/2 c
- Black Pepper Powder - a dash
- White Pepper Powder - a dash
- Salt to taste
- Garlic, minced - 3 cloves
- Onions, sliced into rings - 1 med
- Cornstarch - 2 tsp
- Water - 1 tsp
- Vegetable oil
- Make sure that the tilapia strips are dry. Pat them with paper towels.
- Mix all the ingredients for the coating. Dredge the tilapia strips with the coating
- Heat the oil under medium fire then deep fry the tilapia until they turn brown and crispy. Transfer the fried tilapia into a plate lined with paper towels
- Heat oil in a sauce pan and saute the garlic then the onions for a few minutes.
- Pour the pineapple juice and orange marmalade then season with the black and white pepper powders, and salt. Let the sauce simmer for about a minute.
- Dissolve the cornstarch in water and pour it into the mixture. Bring the sauce to simmer and cook under low fire until the sauce thickens.
