Braised Beef With Mushrooms And Potato Recipe

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Wash and dry 2 pounds of beef and cut into small cubes. Heat 2 Tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet, and fry your meat on high heat for 3-4 minutes or until slightly browned. Transfer the beef into an oven safe dish, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  2. In the same skillet, fry 1 diced onion and 3 grated carrots, and then transfer into the dish with fried beef. Sprinkle with minced garlic.
  3. Cut 6 medium sized potatoes into long strips, like you would cut potatoes for French fries, place into the skillet, add more oil if needed, and fry on high heat for 2-3 minutes until slightly browned. Transfer into the dish with beef and vegetables. Add a cup of chopped dill or parsley.
  4. Wash, dry and slice ten medium sized mushrooms. Fry on high heat for 2-3 minutes, then place them into your baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour in 3 cups of broth, which you can easily substitute with water if you like.
  6. Last thing you need to do is add a cup of grated mozzarella or pepper jack cheese and cover with a thin layer of mayonnaise.
  7. Cover the dish and bake at 390 degrees F for 30 minutes. Then uncover and bake for 10-15 more minutes. Take out of the oven and let stand for 10 minutes.
  8. Garnish each plate with fresh parsley when serving. You can gently mix it before serving to make sure everyone gets equal amount of each ingredient, but you don’t have to.
  9. Enjoy this delicious flavorful dish!
