INGREDIENTS:
- 500gms chicken
- 6 pcs cardaba (saging na saba), halved diagonally
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- chopped onion leeks
- 2tbsps Knorr Seasoning
- black peppercorns
- five spice powder, a pinch or two
- ground thyme, 1/2 tsp
- 200gms Del Monte tomato sauce
- 1 chicken broth cube
- 1 tbsp brown suga
- 3 cups water
- salt and ground black pepper
- cooking oil for frying
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Sear the chicken cuts with vegetable oil in a casserole. Once all sides are seared, set aside and discard half of the oil used.
- In the same casserole, saute garlic, onion and upper root part of onion leeks. Make the peppercorns, five-spice powder and ground thyme party with the aromatics. Don't make the chicken miss the party, put 'em back.
- Pour water and add the chicken broth cube, bananas, Knorr seasoning, tomato sauce and brown sugar. Mix, cover and do not disturb for 30-35 minutes in medium fire.
- Your house smells festive already, open the culprit and put half the onion leeks. Let it open and simmer for 5 more minutes.
- Serve it in a bowl and garnish with the remaining onion leeks. Good enough to eat by itself or with a crusty bread but perfect with white rice!
