Beef In Oyster Sauce With Celery Recipe




INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 lbs. Sirloin, or any cut of beef, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch diluted in 3 tablespoons of water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Heat the oil in a pan. Sauté the garlic and onion.
  2. Add the beef. Continue to sauté until the beef turns medium brown.
  3. Add the oyster sauce, soy sauce, seasoning and water. Stir. Let boil.
  4. Cover and cook in low to medium heat for 30 to 45 minutes or until the beef becomes tender. Add more water if needed.
  5. Add more salt and pepper to taste if needed. Stir.
  6. Put the celery in. Cook until done.
  7. Pour-in the water with cornstarch. Stir and cook until the sauce thickens.
  8. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve with rice or mashed potato.
