INGREDIENTS
8 to 10 tart apples, peeled, seeded and cut into chunks
1 cinnamon stick or 1 tsp. cinnamon powder
1 tsp. cloves
Grated rind of 1 large lemon
Juice of 1/2 large lemon
1/2 to 3/4 cup granulated sugar, more or less to taste, depending on tartness of apples
DRECTIONS
- Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
- Cover, cook and simmer until the mixture becomes thick and the apples are soft.
- Serve cold is better.
