INGREDIENTS
1 pound large prawns/shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 cup walnut halves
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 tablespoon honey
1/2 tablespoon condensed milk
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 egg white
1/2 cup cornstarch (for coating)
Oil for frying
For the Walnuts
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
DIRECTIONS
- In small saucepan, mix water and sugar and bring to boil. Add walnuts and boil for 2 minutes. When done, drain and place on a baking sheet to dry.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium to high heat. Beat the egg white and mix well with prawns/shrimps. Then coat each shrimp with a thick layer of cornstarch, and then fry in the hot oil until golden brown. Remove the shrimps from the pan and drain on paper towels.
- In a bowl, stir together mayonnaise, honey, condensed milk and lemon juice.
- Add shrimp and toss with the mayonnaise mixture. Add walnuts and serve.
