INGREDIENTS:
- 500 grams Pork ribs cut into serving size
- 2 pieces Carrots medium size, cut into wedges
- 1 piece Potato large size, cut into wedges
- 4 pieces Banana or Saba cut into halves
- 250 grams Cabbage sliced into 4, lenghtwise
- 1 whole Onion sliced
- 6 gloves garlic crushed
- 1 stem Lemongrass crushed
- 1 tsp black peppercorns
- 1 tsp Salt (adjust with your preference)
- 4 stems Spring Onion (Onion Leaf) optional
- 4 tbsp Fish Sauce (Patis)
- 12 cups Water
- Heat up a deep casserole and pour in water. Add the pork. Let it boil and remove the scum as it rises from the broth.
- Add the garlic, onion, black peppercorns and lemongrass. Season with salt. Simmer for 45 minutes.
- Add the carrots, potatoes, banana and cabbage, simmer for another 8 minutes.
- Add fish sauce or salt. Simmer for another 2 minutes.
- Turn off the heat. Add the spring onion.
- Get a deep bowl and serve it hot with steamed rice. You may serve with fish sauce or patis.
